Aesthetic nasal surgery is a cosmetic and plastic surgery that is performed in cases where the patients do not find their noses in the aesthetic way and are dissatisfied, or when there is a problem in the respiratory system of the nose. Nasal surgery operations can be used in cases where the nose is present in aesthetic anxiety due to the deterioration of the structure due to the existing state or subsequent impacts or accidents, and prevents the healthy functioning of the respiratory system. A successful aesthetic nose surgery operation is possible by creating a specially designed nose shape depending on the facial features of the person and the general proportion of all facial contours. The aesthetic aspect that the majority of patients wish to achieve is that of a nose that has a natural proportional harmony with their faces and a congenital form, rather than a nose structure fitted to their faces as if they were made from the same mold that could be applied to everyone.
HOW ARE OPEN AND CLOSED TECHNIQUES PERFORMED IN AESTHETIC NOSE SURGERY?
Depending on the patient's condition, open or closed technique can be used in the aesthetic nose surgery operation in a way that the doctor decides the appropriate method. The open technique is often preferred in cases where the tip of the nose needs to be intervened and the operation is performed by incision under the nostrils and removing the skin of the nose. In closed technique, the necessary corrections are made through the nostrils without any incision.
HOW LONG IS THE HEALING PROCESS AFTER AESTHETIC NOSE SURGERY?
The pain that may be felt in the first postoperative period is not unbearable and can be prevented by painkillers. The patient usually stays in the hospital one evening and is discharged the next day. It is normal to have bruises and swellings in the nose and eye area after the operation and these effects go away after the healing process. The patient can return to work and social life within a week. Buffers and splint are removed by the doctor within one week after the operation. If the nose surgery operation is performed with open technique, the stitches at the tip of the nose are taken in the first week. The swelling in the nasal area, which is not very obvious from the outside and decreasing, decreases completely after 6 months and the nose takes its full shape after 1 year. Glasses should not be used for the first 4 - 6 months and sports activities that may cause impact on the nose area should be avoided for the first 6 months.
