EVERYTHING ABOUT AESTHETIC EYELID SURGERY

Aesthetic eyelid surgery is an aesthetic and plastic surgery operation performed for the recovery of sagging and wrinkles in the eyebrow area and upper eyelids and removal of lines, oil glands and pouches that occur in the eyebrow area and upper eyelids as a sign of aging, often with the effect of time and gravity. Non-surgical procedures can be used in cases where patients do not want the effects of aging around the eye aesthetically and are dissatisfied with the signs of aging. In cases where the non-surgical solutions do not provide the desired results and are insufficient to show the expected effects, aesthetic eyelid surgery operations can be provided in order to intervene in the deformations in the eyelid region. The image that the majority of patients wish to achieve aesthetically, is to provide an eyelid aesthetics that is not understood to be ‘intervened from the outside’ with a natural proportional harmony with their faces.

HOW IS AESTHETIC EYELID SURGERY OPERATED?

In the aesthetic eyelid surgery operation, the ‘aesthetic’ expectations of the patient are of great importance in making the eyelids look young and healthy. Taking into consideration these expectations, the aesthetic surgeon forms the scope of the operation by presenting to the patient the method recommendations that will provide the closest and most appropriate result to the patient's face in general. In the aesthetic eyelid surgery operation, the upper eyelid intervention is performed with the incision made on the line where the eyelid is folded and sagging muscle and fat tissue are removed and the lowness and sagging of the eyelid are recovered. In the operation, the intervention to be applied to the lower eyelid is performed with the incision made from the lower line of the eyelashes and the muscle and fat tissue are lifted up. Surgical operation is completed by dressing and suturing the eyelids after giving the desired shape. Aesthetic eyelid surgery is usually performed with local anesthesia, but local anesthesia is supported by sedation, if requested by the patient and by the doctor. After these surgical operations, patients may have young looking and healthy eyelids as they imagined. Aesthetic eyelid surgery operation takes 1 - 1.5 hours on average.

HOW LONG IS THE HEALING PROCESS AFTER AESTHETIC EYELID SURGERY OPERATION?

The pain that may be felt in the first postoperative period is not intolerable and can be prevented with painkillers. The patient is usually discharged on the same day. Swelling and bruising, dryness of eyes, blurred vision and sensitivity to light are normal in the areas where post-operative applications are performed and these effects disappear within a few weeks in parallel with the healing process. The sutures are removed by the doctor within 5 days after the surgery. The patient can return to work and social life within 5 days. During the first 3 months, sports activities that may cause impact on the eye area should be avoided and the eyes should be protected from the sun.

DOES AESTHETIC EYELID SURGERY OPERATION LEAVE SCAR?

One of the most worrisome issues after aesthetic eyelid surgery is the scarring on the skin tissue after the surgical procedure performed by performing the incision. In a successful operation, it is aimed to minimize the possibility of incision marks to remain prominent with advanced methods. The operation incision is made on the line where the eyelid is folded in the upper eyelid and the lower eyelash is aligned with the lower line of the eyelashes, so that they remain hidden in the invisible areas of the face even if there will be a slight trace.
